  1. I don’t understand wanted wounded by divine love means. Paul does say that when we suffer we become united with Jess in glory. Also that suffering strengthens us. Is suffering an expression of God’s divine love for us? That’s hard to understand. Jesus has allegedly done all the suffering for us. It is suggested that there can be no joy without suffering.

    • Wounded by divine love means that an individual is so overwhelming in love with God that he gives up everything in the pursuit of God. Those wounded by divine love can find no comfort in worldly pleasures and gladly give these up and live an ascetic life.
